Abstract
Fisher women contribute largely to the blue economy of the nation and needs upliftment in every aspect towards their progress and development. Women in the community are the main supporters of the families. Sustainability of the vocation of women among the fisher folk population has become the need of the hour. Disparity between the small scale fishing community and big investors in the marine sector portray the necessity of specific policies to address the cause of instability. Development should not affect the ecological balance where as it has to find a way to sustainable development.
