Abstract

My intention in this paper is to portray productivity pattern in the state and to explain how the rapid agricultural growth leads, rapid economic development of the state. This study is based on secondary data released by the government of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh state has achieved a significant growth in terms of productivity in agriculture sector but the productivity of the state is below then what it actually requires. In the absence of modern agricultural technique and farming in traditional ways, agriculture of the state is totally depended on rainfall. This paper is based on two major crops of the state that is cereals and pulses. Cereals include paddy, maize and jwar and kodo kutki and pulses includes arhar, mong, urd and kulthi. Comparative study of these agricultural produce and its productivity pattern has been discussed in this paper with the help of different statistical analysis tools. Modernization of agriculture is the greatest need of agriculture as it is the source of income for the 80% population of the state.
