Abstract

Democracy mean the government for the people and by the people, by this process people elect their representatives to run the government for them, and the end from this process is that the life style of people should be improved according to their desires especially the rural people. It is seen that the effective development is ensured when the rural people in developing countries will directly participate in development programmes because most of the people in developing countries live in rural areas. People’s Participation in development programmes has now become the central element to ensure good governance as demanded by the International Aid donor agencies in developing countries. This article will contextualize the structure of people’s participation in India for rural development.
