Abstract

The present article analyses the user’s attitudes towards library collection and services.The purpose of this study is to identify the awareness of library collection and services. This articleprovides insights for library staff regarding the library collection and services of culturally diverse students within academic libraries in the context of New Zealand,an ongoing research study. To address this issue, this descriptive quantitative study explores the information-seeking behaviour of culturally diverse students, as a case study. A well-designed survey questionnaire was used to collect and analyse the data. The findings of the study are that nearly majority of studentsare satisfied with library resources, services and facilities. However, it found that library resources and services are not fully utilized by culturally diverse students. Based on the findings it was recommended that separate information literacy workshops should be offered for culturally diverse students along with collection. The suggestion was library collection and separate spaces for culturally diverse students to meet theirusers’ needs quickly and promptly.
