Abstract

Cancer may be viewed as a condition in which abnormal cells divide without control and has the potential to invade nearby tissues through blood and can metastasize to different parts of the body. The presence of cancer cells slowly starts destabilizing the body functioning and which can be life threatening situation if doesn’t diagnosed at early stages of its development. The other unmasked reality in relation to cancer is that due to health illiteracy many persons views this disease as “Death” and they instead of taking emergent treatment they lose the battle morally and psychologically. This Paper underlines psycho-social aspects of cancer care through a medium of case study. Also the paper establishes the relevance of the branch of social work in dealing with cases of cancer and overall in attaining oncology services as part of combating cancer cases through multidisciplinary approach.
